half food blog. half tech blog. half george blog.
the dupri school of restaurants.
Went to Bone’s tonight. Man, that place is good. Had a big ol’ ribeye – bone in! No photo documentation, sadly, since I forgot to bring my camera. Let me just tell you that it was a work of bovine art.
Across the street was Jermaine Dupri’s new business venture, Cafe Dupri. Apparently tonight was the big grand opening and I’m sure all kinds of big names were there to holla at their boy. There was a line outside when we got to dinner, and there was still a line hours later when we left. I read up a little about it online, and it looks like JD wants to serve up some healthy southern food. Healthy southern food? That’s the biggest oxymoron ever. You can’t substitute lard! I will have to give him props for innovation though. No one in their right mind would have ever thought to make healthy southern food. Maybe I should open a vegetarian churrascaria.
But I’m still going to eat there. Why? Because it’s Dupri’s place. And he’s straight up baller. I’m going to stick out so bad it’s not even going to be funny. Holla.
