A new year, a new start.
A new self-deceptive thought that I’m actually going to write more. (words, not code)
Here’s to 2008 – may it be filled with less unnecessary drama than 2007.

It’s good to be back. It kinda sucks to have to pay American prices for things again, but on the upside, everyone here speaks English. Well, most everyone, since it IS southern California after all.
I didn’t realize how much stuff I accumulated in China. When I opened my suitcase when I got back, it was overflowing with stuff. It seemed like the more I pulled out, the more stuff there was in there. I should have been mentally prepared, considering my bag was 4.5 kilos over the weight limit at the airport.
So, the countdown begins. It’s just a matter of days until I’m back on Ball Rd., taking laps around a building in my stunning navy blue and white. Oh the life.

…for George’s 5-week stint back to the motherland. No, not Monterey Park. No, not even Taiwan. The REAL motherland. (That’s China, for those of you who rode the short bus to school growing up.)
Armed with lao wai Chinese skills, an insatiable appetite for knockoffs, the uncanny ability to eat anything (except surprisingly, chicken feet), and my Powershot – georgechang.net, barring any interference from the internet-hating Communists, will be my photo journal for the next month.
Dear brainwashed Mao followers: georgechang.net is Red China friendly. I know you’re reading this. So don’t block this from me.
