welcome to the united states.
It’s good to be back. It kinda sucks to have to pay American prices for things again, but on the upside, everyone here speaks English. Well, most everyone, since it IS southern California after all.
I didn’t realize how much stuff I accumulated in China. When I opened my suitcase when I got back, it was overflowing with stuff. It seemed like the more I pulled out, the more stuff there was in there. I should have been mentally prepared, considering my bag was 4.5 kilos over the weight limit at the airport.
So, the countdown begins. It’s just a matter of days until I’m back on Ball Rd., taking laps around a building in my stunning navy blue and white. Oh the life.
trip update #3.
Okay, I lied. Philippines isn’t that lacking in technology, but I sure am lacking in time. It’s like I never have a moment free. And when I do find a moment free, I’m usually napping.
Besides, I’ve got over 500 pictures to sort through. I think I’m going to wait until I get back to the States before I upload them. I guess I can sort through them on the plane ride back.
This place is definitely an experience. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I’m going to miss it.
Good thing I have 500+ pictures.
trip update #2.
I’m in the Philippines now!
Man, this place is crazy. We drove through metro Manila yesterday. Well, not really drove. More like, maneuvered. Lanes are merely suggestions out here. The people here make my driving skills look like an 8 year old’s. Pictures forthcoming.
This morning, at the crack of dawn, our team flew south to Zamboanga City. We’re staying at the meeting hall here. We just found out that we’re giving messages these next two weeks. Pray for us.
Pictures up to now seriously will be forthcoming. Well, maybe. Conference pictures are still on my laptop, which is still in Manila. But I’ll put Philippines pictures up the next time I’m back at this internet cafe – most likely really really soon.
trip update #1.
Pictures at http://pictures.georgechang.net.
Pictures are worth 1000 words. There are 44 of them. So basically, it’s like 44000 words. Plus captions.
off i go.
Tomorrow morning, I’ll be headed out to Taiwan for the conference, then Manila for a day, then a city in the south of the Philippines called Zamboanga for a couple weeks. I hear Al-Queda operates down there. Hopefully they won’t think I’m from the States. It’s really supposed to be a nice coastal city. Then I think it’s back up to Manila and Quezon City for a couple days before coming back to the O.C. in time for pre-training.
I’ll update whenever I can get online, and upload pictures as much as I can at http://pictures.georgechang.net so you can travel vicariously to the other side of the world through me. I think there’s an internet cafe in Zamboanga.
