No, he's completely wrong. There's an Italian place on every block in the Northeast, owned and operated by Italian immigrants.

False stereotypes are fun. They reinforce the superiority complexes of those who hold them.

Ut oh. This definitley worries me. I have reservations for their all-you-can-eat seafood dinner tomorrow. I've been to TWO Urban Licks before. It was an ok experience. I was more impressed with the aesthetics of the restaurant than the food tho. Maybe because their menu is not so non-meat eater friendly. Well, I can only hope this goes well.

Mario Majors :I grew up in Italy, in an Italian family. Most people in the States have no idea what real Italian food tastes like, even these so called epicureans, and no wonder, ours is the country of Hamburger Helper, McDonalds, and Pizza Hut. Here is the secret to the ‘grande cucina Italiana” and “la cuisine Francais”, are you ready? It’s not cooking schools, it’s called taking the time to cook at home, as opposed to whipping something up in 10 minutes. That is something that Wolfgang Puck and all the rest of those chefs rarely own up to. That is the real reason why real Italian food is so good, you can go into virtually any home in Italy and get a great meal.

Just wait till you see the one where they take a blindfolded family for a ride around the block in a limo and dupe them into tasting pasta in thier OWN HOME! They act like they don't know where they are even though they had to walk up about 10 steps to get to the front door and sit in thier own kitchen. It's seriously the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen and anyone thinking this has to be true is a moron.
